ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) is more than corporate jargon encompassing a broad range of corporate initiatives – it’s central to corporate strategy, investor projections, and more. But do decision-makers fully understand risks around ESG? According to an annual survey of corporate board directors conducted by PwC, nearly 2-in-3 say ESG is linked to their company’s strategy. However, just 25% say that their board understands ESG risks very well.
Many issues across the ESG portfolio are dense, complicated, and evolving year-to-year, but they are core to corporate strategy. Arming decision-makers with a greater understanding of the ins and outs of these issues, and their intersection with their business, could drive more effective strategy and more impactful initiatives.
