Half of CEOs Expect Their Scope of Work Will Increase

The responsibilities and role pressures on CEOs continue to mount. The challenges for chief executives from the first phase of the pandemic, which had been considered unprecedented in scale, have been followed by even more sustained strain from global supply chain disruptions, rising inflation and workforce upheaval. Add to that a growing public expectation for CEOs to serve as leaders on social issues and exert influence in geopolitical dynamics, the result is a CEO remit that can feel expansive. Among the Transformative ommunity, 50% of CEOs report they expect their scope of work responsibilities to be greater this year compared with last year – 30% say their scope will be significantly greater.
