Young Employees Turn Up the Heat on Corporate Climate Emphasis

As an area for business focus, climate change has historically been de-prioritized over more immediate-term strategic issues. This area, however, has increasingly come to the forefront of CEO priorities as critical stakeholder groups including ESG investors and the next generation of talent demand companies become more socially and environmentally responsible. In our recent polling on the issues CEOs expect their companies to focus on the most over the next 12 months, 43% of executives said climate change will be one of their primary areas of focus in the coming year. This focus comes at the same time 41% of Gen Z respondents in a recent Axios Amnesty International Survey cited climate change as one of the most important issues facing the world, making it the most cited issue among young people globally.
