Crisis is often considered a crucible within a company, but it can also serve as an incubator for innovation. We asked the Transformative ommunity about the areas in which their companies had most successfully innovated in reaction to a crisis, and they reported on innovation in product and service offerings; in processes, systems and infrastructure; in people and talent; and in organizational structure.
CEOs see some of these reactive areas as prime territories for proactive innovation, as well. When we made the question forward-looking – asking CEOs which of those same areas was the biggest priority area for their organization to rethink for breakthrough innovation – what rose to the top were the area of organizational structure and the area of processes, systems and infrastructure.
